Any Cant & Phil Anderson, Traditional Orkney Poems, Instrumental Folk Music
The idea of this recording transpired as a result of Andy & Phil playing an acoustic set at a friend’s wedding. While already recognised as an accomplished fiddle player and composer, Andy had thoughts about writing music to traditional Orkney poems, the results of which can be heard here amongst the ever-popular instrumental tracks. Phil plays a variety of instruments and sings the majority of the songs. In days gone by, local poets were referred to as Skalds which inspired the album title.
